Cheri Brown, L.Ac.
Once upon a time I was a long distance runner. I ran about ten miles a
day. After years of doing this, I developed a lot of problems with my right foot. My foot experienced more surgeries than a person could count. Still I continued to run Sabino Canyon three times a
week, coming home to ice my foot and take pain pills in order to sleep at
night. One day I went to my doctor to get a refill for my pain meds and to get my cortisone
shot. He said to me, "have you ever thought about trying acupuncture?" I
said, "at this point I am willing to try anything". The pain was making it difficult for me to sleep at
night. He referred me to an acupuncturist (who was a nurse working for him at one
time). I went for my first treatment... the results were amazing!! After three treatments I was pain free-- no more pain meds were needed.
